ScHoolboy Q ft. Kendrick Lamar – Collard Greens (Video)

ScHoolboy Q didn’t try to reinvent the wheel or anything with this video, it’s pretty straightforward. But I fuck with the song so it’s whatever, waiting to hear OxyMoron.

ScHoolboy Q feat. Kendrick Lamar – Collard Greens (prod. by THC)

artworks-000050294229-f3w166-t500x500Off of my first listen I could already tell I’m going to keep this track in rotation. Everything about this song screams left field, from the choppy canvas to the off-center flow from Kdot and Q. I mean, Kendrick came on the track spitting in spanish. Perfect example of experimenting with delivery but keeping the music dope. Definitely anticipating Oxymoron.

Terrace Martin – Poetic Justice Saxophone Mix

e7f8807e2474ababb7b4baf17b84a914Always dope when Terrace Martin and his saxophone comes into play. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard him and Kendrick on the same track, can’t forget the epic nature of “Ab-Soul’s Outro”. I’d say this is an improvement on an already significant track. Kendrick Lamar ft. Drake – Poetic Justice (Video)

The video starts off with a nod to “Sherane” from GKMC so I’m sure other wishful thinkers are having the same thoughts as me. Visuals to that track would be amazing. This video was entertaining in its own right. I like that it had a moving plot throughout.

Kendrick Lamar – Backseat Freestyle (Official Video)

Nice to get the visuals for Backseat Freestyle. There’s a ton going on in this one, from the streets of Compton to the Eiffel Tower in France. Appreciated the references to the skits on the album too. But I want to pointt out the quick cameo from Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender). That brought a smile to my face.

Kendrick Lamar – good kid m.A.A.d city (Review)

As I’ve been reminded time and time again the release of Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar’s debut album is a pretty big deal. Some, including myself, might even dub it as monumental considering the platform he’s acquired recently. I’d consider myself a ardent fan so I figured it’d be nice to recruit some fresh perspectives for this review. And in keeping with the theme of the album I wanted to showcase some snapshot reactions. So without further adieu:

Kendrick Lamar ft. Ab-Soul & Jay Rock – The Heart pt. 3 (Will You Let It Die) (produced by Tae Beast)

I was just chilling eating a bowl of oatmeal at 3 in the afternoon and then I get hit with this. If you’re not familiar with The Heart series they are the definition of epic in audio form and to get Ab and Jay on this just adds to something that was already otherworldly. TDE is eating and on October 22nd I will be copping GKMC.

Kendrick Lamar ft. Dr. Dre – Compton (prod. by Just Blaze)

Yeah, ANY time you get Just Blaze on a beat something epic is sure to ensue. It certainly doesn’t hurt to have Kendrick Dre on the same track giving love to Compton, it’s sort of like the continued passing of the torch that we’ve been witnessing. good kid, m.A.A.d city

Kendrick Lamar – Art Of Peer Pressure

No word whether this will be on good kid, m.A.A.d city but this track is one worth paying some attention to. Kendrick told us a street story on this one and took a pretty realistic stance on what might go on in the situation. Kudos for sure.

Scoe ft. Kendrick Lamar – Thank You (prod. by Jake One)

Scoe enlisted K Dot for this left coast homage to the greats. If that wasn’t enough to get you interested Jake-One produced it. I’m vibing to it, you should too.

DJ Kay Slay ft. Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and Jay Rock – Highway To Hell

Yeah any time you gather 3/4 of Black Hippy together I’ll be front and center to hear it. No Ab-Soul but that doesn’t take away from the tenacity of this track. Simply put, this is an organized cypher with a beat that bangs and three emcees taking flight on the track.

Kendrick Lamar ft. Young Jeezy – Westside, Right On Time (prod. by Canei Finch)

TDE continues it’s appreciation week with a Kendrick Lamar track with Young Jeezy as a recruit. It was dope to hear Kendrick on this beat and Young Jeezy fit right at home.

Ab-Soul – Black Lip Bastard (Black Hippy Remix) (Music Video)

Yeah I’m glad this got the video treatment. Needless to say every member spazzed on this track. Enjoy and stuff.

Kendrick Lamar – War Is My Love

K Dot created this joint for the video game Ghost Recon Future Soldier.  It’s nice to see a gaming franchise like Ghost Recon reach out to Kendrick for an original track.

Ab-Soul ft. Black Hippy – Black Lip Bastard Remix

The day before Control System we get to hear the collective’s take on a track from Ab-Soul that was already a favorite of mine.

Ab-Soul ft. Kendrick Lamar – ILLuminate

Ab-Soul and KDot collab on this TDE track. The production on this track is epic and it’s always dope when these two collab. Ab-Soul’s Control System drops May 11 so cop that.

Kendrick Lamar ft. Dr Dre – The Recipe (prod. by Scoop Deville)

This track is pretty much flawless, the production by Scoop Deville has that perfect west coast feel and is an instant head nodder. Dope to see Kendrick and Dre hook up, this definitely lived up to expectations.

Buddy – Staircases ft. Kendrick Lamar(prod.by Pharrell)

Ever since the video of Pharrell and Kendrick surfaced I’ve been wanted to hear these two work together. Thanks to Buddy I can finally see what it would be like and it’s dope. You can download the song here

Game ft. Kendrick Lamar – The City

My second favorite track from the RED Album gets visuals, which is pretty dope.  What Kendrick did to his verse is borderline reckless, for that fact alone this song gets plenty of rotation.

BJ The Chicago Kid-The World Is A Ghetto ft. Kendrick Lamar

I’m a sucker for a great cover. BJ The Chicago Kid and Kendrick join forces to create their version of the WAR classic The World Is A Ghetto. This song can be found on BJ’s album Pineapple Now-Laters.
